New bar mill clears the way for Chengdu privatisation

China's Chengdu Iron & Steel looks set to commission a new 600,000 tpy bar mill in August at its plant in Chengdu city, Sichuan province.The state-owned steelmaker said that the start-up of the new bar mill signals a timely turnaround for the beleaguered company, which aims to begin the process of privatisation once the project is completed.
