US steel plate prices remained stable this week amid persistent weakdemand.However, the market could rise in the coming weeks on the heelsof higher prices for metallurgical coal, iron ore and scrap, marketparticipants said.Prices are also likely to get a boost in November once preliminaryduties in a trade case targeting cut-to-length plate are known, andwhen the outcome of the presidential election is certain, they said.
