Brazil's CVRD is taking steps to further consolidate its manganese empire with a pro-posed purchase of troubled Mexican ferro-manganese producer and manganese miner Cia Minera Autlan, which would give it a firm foothold in the Nafta market.Autlan recently said it is seeking a strategic partner. Further details on the negotiations understood to be under way, or a confirmation of the proposed purchase, were not available as MB went to press.
