Norilsk Nickel poised to buy troubled Siberian mill

Norilsk Nickel is poised to acquire the assets of the insolvent Tuim Non-Ferrous Metal Processing Works in Khakassia, south Siberia.The mill specialises in the production of brass bar, copper rod and coated wire and has an annual capacity of 62,500 tonnes of rolled products. It was one of Russia's larger plants in the sector until last year when it went into receivership and operations almost halted.
