Ceilings within buildings are often recognized as the largest and most visual areas of an interior part of the building. It has been estimated that ceilings account for approximately one-third of the interior areas of most commercial buildings, making them one of the most important components within the design and specification process. One of the most widely used ceilings for today's modem designs and sustainable challenges are perforated metal ceilings. These can be customized to fit a room's scale, as well as customized to specific perforation shapes, sizes and finishes. Perforated metal panels also contribute to three key green building design areas: energy performance, recycled materials and indoor environmental quality.
