Being Green and Code Cool--An In-depth Look at Cool Roofing Requirements

Both code and voluntary green building initiatives are requiring metal roofing products to be cool and, now, even cooler. Indeed, some initiatives have increased their degree of impetus from smoldering to flickering to almost blazing in 2008. Although cool roofing requirements have been well underway for some time, their collective sense of urgency and importance is being strongly fanned by higher energy costs and can be seenagainst a backdrop of global warming and climate change images that are widely presented by the media, usually with forecasts portending dire, cataclysmic consequences.
