Weak tin prices affect PT Timah sales; Indonesian exports may drop this month

The fall in tin prices has forced Indonesia’s largest exporter, PT Timah,to slash 2016 sales to less than 500 tonnes per month, companysecretary Agung Nugroho told Metal Bulletin.“We are selling to very few customers in 2016,” Nugroho said,adding that last year the company sold around 20,000 tonnes of tin.“The significant drop in sales will affect our cash flow and we willhave to work things out with the banks with whom we havelong-term relationships,” he added.
