Russian Al producers win rail tariff cut

Russian aluminium producers have won a concession from the government on a controversial rise in rail tariffs for cargoes of ore.A decree issued in July resulted in a 200 percent increase in tariffs for transporting ferrous and non-ferrous ores by rail with effect from August. However, the government has now backed down in the face of opposition from aluminium producers and regional governors.
