ACM provides unified identity for high tech corporate campus

Tecumseh, Ontario, CAN-By the time Archon Architects of Windsor, Ontario, was commissioned to design an addition to the Tregaskiss manufacturing and office complex, the facilities had already undergone three previous expansions. In addition to expanding the research and development, customer service, and engineering departments, the owner requested that the architects use the opportunity to create a unified identity for the complex. Archon developed the 9,000 sq. ft., 1.6 million dollars addition with an angular footprint that followed the property line. A sleek new facade has crisp lines and rounded corners that virtually dominate the site, visually setting the manufacturing building into the background. A two-story galleria joins the new front entrance to the main two-story office addition and removes the circulation from the existing office areas. Reynobond ACM from Alcoa Architectural Products, Eastman, GA, was chosen as the primary material for the facade because it has a sleek, bold look with just the right edge to it, conveying Tregaskiss' metal welding equipment. The addition was completed in June 2003.
