Italian plants restart after floods

Italian stainless steel producers, Acciai Speciali Terni and Cogne Acciai Speciali, have begun production after devastating floods in northwest Italy forced the plants to close last month.An official at Acciai Speciali Terni, however, told MB that, despite having restarted, the company is still experiencing serious difficulties at its Turin cold rolling mill. The plant equipment is still in the process of being cleaned and the company has had to acquire parts for the mill to replace damaged machinery. "We are still working, but we have to wait for some substitute parts," the company official revealed.
