Mission Addition

Founded in 1893, the Sunday Breakfast Mission in Wilmington, Del., consists of a strong ministry whose goal is to provide for the homeless. In February 2011, a three-story building addition was completed that added space for the compassionate ministry's shelter, meals, counseling and job trainingprogram for the homeless, impoverished and substance addicted. Wilmington-based EDiS Co., a Butler Builder, served as design-buiider and worked closeiy with the faith-based center's leadership that accepted design-build project delivery to keep the project on schedule and within the $8 million constructionbudget. EDiS explored grant opportunities to help underwrite the project and purchased $750,000 worth of materials and major equipment at cost without the customary markups as part of trade contracts. EDiS also participated In other initiatives that kept the project within the mission's budget.
