Campbell Mansion Makeover--New Roof Complements Historic Landmark's Longevity and Style

Originally built in 1790, the Campbell Mansion, located in Bethany, W.Va, was considered an elaborate residence in a frontier community. Now a National Historic Landmark, the structure contains the original limestone foundation and oak floors, which are still sound. To complement the longevity and style of the original architecture, Bethany College chose Follansbee's KlassicKolors in a vivid shade of red as the modern replacement to the antiquated roof. The roof is from Follansbee located in Follansbee, W.Va. "The baked on color, which will eliminate painting, closely matched the old roof that was removed," said William R. Kiefer, executive vice president for finance and treasurer at Bethany College. "It fits in well and does not look like a 'new' roof on a very old building."
