Fiberglass is known to be the most specified insulation type for roofs in metal buildings and can achieve excellent overall performance if installed correctly. We try to educate professionals in our industry by helping them avoid common problems with fiberglass blanket insulation. Condensation Condensation is, unfortunately, a common occurrence in metal buildings. When warm moist air reaches a cooler surface, some of the moisture in the air collects on that surface and the moisture pools into droplets, known as condensation. This known enemy for metal buildings may result in a loss of insulation R-value and invites corrosion of the purlins, fasteners, staples and roof sheets. This corrosion invites roof rot and reduces uplift resistance damaging the structural integrity of the building.
