The owner of this 17,000 sq. ft. brick building wanted the 32,600 sq. ft. renovated manufacturing facility to reflect the nature of the business and to present a strong, forward thinking image to the community, employees and customers. The addition allows the existing factory to grow into space formerly occupied by offices.Centralized shared functions, including a cafeteria, training facilities and employee entrance, occur along a new circulation corridor and are separated from the new offices by a thick metal-clad wall which runs the depth of the building on the interior and protrudes out to the exterior. The wall was fabricated by A.R.J. Inc. with metal from Petersen Aluminum. The 24-gauge Pac-Clad metal has a stucco-embossed Interstate Blue finish. On the interior of the offices, a 90'-long skylight was constructed along the blue wall to provide a balance of natural light on all four sides of the office space.
