The new Variety Club ChildServe Center in Ames needed to be completed and ready for occupancy in a seven-month time frame. The owner wanted a building that would provide a unique and interesting structure, supporting the learning environment and mission of the daycare center. The building also needed to create an identity.Architects Wells Woodburn O'Neil met those objectives with the use of a metal building system for the 10,544 sq. ft. facility. The 260' long x 40' wide structure is framed with a Bulter Advantage V7.20 system for Bulter Manufacturing, Kansas City, MO. The eave heights are 10' and 20' with the single-slope roof pitched 3:12.
