Aluminum Claddings Utilized at Texas Airport

The Enwall metal panel system was chosen to provide a durable, maintenance free, aesthetically pleasing finish for the interior of the main building of Austin Bergstrom International Airport, Austin, TX. The system, manufactured by Environmental Interiors Inc. of Hudson, NH, includes aluminum wall panels framed with anodized aluminum angles, as well as aluminum column and kiosk cladding. A Pohl Europanel rainscreen wall system from Pohl Inc. of America was used for the exterior of the building.The interior system incorporated heavier gauge aluminum panels at lower elevations to withstand abuse. Approximately 75,000 st. ft. of 6,500 panels, in more than 200 different sizes and covering 7,500 sq. ft. of wall area, were utilized. According to the manufacturer, the use of lightweight yet durable aluminum panels allowed for greater flexibility to meet the design requirements.
