Fans of the University of Louisville men and women's basketball teams frequent the KFC YUM I Center in Louisville, Ky. As the first sports and entertainment venue to be built in Louisville in more than 54 years, the seven-level, 22,000-plus seat arena is home to basketball teams, as well as being the site for programs, concerts, family shows, conventions and corporate gatherings. Designed by Populous, Kansas City, Mo., the 722,000-square-foot facility boasts 72 suites, 62 premium boxes, six lounges, four meeting rooms and a 1 1/2-acre landscaped entry plaza. Completed in October 2010, Mortertson Construction, Minneapolis, served as the general contractor.
