Auto racing has come along way since its inception. The technology has improved, the speeds have increased and the prize money has gotten a lot better. It is for those reasons and a whole host of others that motorsports racing has grown to become America's leading spectator sport.The desire to further expand racing's presence, to bring live events to an ever-growing audience, and to cash in on racing's wave of popularity has led to the construction of several new super-speedways in recent years. Among them is Texas Motor Speedway in Alliance, TX. Designed by Yates Chreitzberg of Concord, NC, it was completed in 1997.
