Second-Floor Addition Is Solution For Growing Business

Things are looking up at the House of Frames and Paintings in Columbia, SC. Thanks to a local architect's clever approach to the expansion needs of his client, the gallery now boasts two stories of exhibit and display space instead of one. The existing building is traditional in appearance with some Tudor influences. The addition, in contrast, is completely contemporary, yet visually compatible. Its lines are simple, its appointments are minimal and it's covered entirely with metal. Responsible for its design was Robert J. Probst, Architect AIA, of West Columbia.
