Charged with developing a building design that would serve as a prototype for AAA Motor Club locations throughout central Indiana, Carson Design Associates of Carmel, IN, used a combination of brick and composite metal wall panels on the new service center in Muncie, IN. The project was completed in May 2001."The composite metal panels used for the tower create the defining element of the design and act as a marker to identify the building as the AAA Hoosier Motor Club," said Shawn Curran, project architect. In addition to being highly visible, the composite material was deemed suitable for the project because it requires little maintenance and provides an attractive contrast to the building's brick and limestone elements.
