摘要

Through quantitative prediction of stresses, strains, and displacements in both casting and die, today's casting process simulation tools provide a powerful alternative to traditional trial and error solutions to casting distortion problems. These tools can be used to analyse production casting problems without tying-up production tools and machines. Ideally, these tools are applied before the die is built and allow die designers and casting engineers to avoid costly casting distortion problems. The foundry has confirmed the case study and actual part visualised in this paper.
