Electronic texts and the internet: A review ofThe English Server

An increasing number of services, particularly electronic texts, are available via the Internet to humanities scholars. This situation is novel and raises a number of questions which are brought out in this essay. Some of these questions are illustrated with reference toThe English Serverat Carnegie Mellon University.
