OBSERVATIONS AT IN-HABITAT POPULATIONS OF THE L1THOPS PSEUDOTRUNCA TELLA SUBSP. GROENDRA YENSIS/DENDRITICA COMPLEX IN NAMIBIA

Two of the subspecies of Lithops pseudotruncatella, subsp. groendrayensis and subsp. dendritica occur in various populations around Rehoboth in Namibia. The colonies of subsp. dendritica occur mostly west, northwest, south and south-west of Rehoboth whilst subsp. groendrayensis occurs in a small area south and southeast of Rehoboth (Cole & Cole 2005). Some of these colonies are in close proximity south of Rehoboth and our aim was to investigate whether there are any in-habitat contacts or overlaps in distribution, range or characteristics between these two subspecies.
