COLLECTING SUCCULENTS IN N AM AQU ALAND.- Kommaggas and the Templeklof

In the far distance the mountains near Pella, also the barren hills and mountains following the course of the Orange River near Goodhouse, could be seen. We climbed On till we nearly reached the top, before we succeeded in finding Lithops Helmutii L.Bol. which I wished to photograph in color. We gathered some other plants, especially nice Haworthias and Crassulas. Further down we came across some very old "Kokerbome" viz. Aloe dichotoma L.f, the stems of which had been used by the Bushmen for quivers. Among them grew some beautiful satin-white flowering big bushes of Pelargonium spinosum Willd. making fine colored photographs along with the Aloes.
