ECTOTROPIS REVISITED by Ian Nartowicz

At about this time (14.12.2006) last year in the Bulletin, we were treated to a taste of a newly rediscovered species, Ectotropis alpina. With excellent timing, the seed was available on the MSG seedlist and no doubt many people have grown their own little plants. And little is certainly the right word, the leaves are only 6-8 mm long, the petals 3-4 mm long, and the whole plant just a few cm across although the thickened roots can be 10 cm long.
