Hat-flame burners create a flat flame in which the highest temperatures develop uniformly near the surface of the sinter. The burners have the following advantages:realization of a broad range of loads with a low level of hazardous emissions (NO_x);rapid combustion of the fuel in the sintering-machine charge due to direct convective heat transfer;the possibility of operating the burners within a broad range of values of the excess-air coefficient;stabilization of the flame;complete equalization of the temperature field, which makes it possible to have the roof of the hearth located 300-450 mm from the bed;the possibility of arranging for automatic burner ignition.
