The Moldavian Metallurgical Plant (MMZ) has worked with Odessa National Polytechnic University since 2001 to develop and introduce gasdynamic systems and equipment with feedback control systems. To cite one example, the MMZ replaced its cyclones with a new design of centrifugal multi-channel dustcatcher (MCD). The new units are simple to assemble and adjust and reliable, flexible, and efficient in operation. In contrast to cyclones, the modules of the new dustcatcher are assembled into blocks of a certain capacity. The assembly operation is performed with allowance for the existing siting conditions, and there is no change in the quality of the gas-cleaning operation.
