Evgenii Nikolaevich Kablov, General Director of the All-Russia Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) and Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, held a press conference at VIAM on November 12, 2013 to talk about "The Value of New Materials for Russia's Transition to a New Technological Realm." The press conference was held in conjunction with the convening of the roundtable "The Role and Value of New Materials and Technologies in Establishing and Growing the Space Industry." The meeting was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the flight of the legendary Soviet orbital spacecraft Energiya-Buran.
