摘要

Multicomponent diffusional saturation with manganese, chromium, and silicon has been found to increase the wear resistance and longevity of locking sleeves. Comparative bench tests indicated that treated sleeves had fewer nicks, and that the surface roughness was lower than that of batch-produced sleeves. The process that was developed enables substantial increases in the service life of machinery and equipment used in agriculture, the timber industry, and railroad equipment.
