Comparative Analysis of the Operation of Lances in a Unit Designed for the Desulfurization of Semifinished Products

This article describes the engineering properties required of lances made by six companies: Burtherm, Virluin, Foseko, Reftek (Germany), Aleastur (Spain), and Inland (U.S.). It is shown that the life of injection lances depends on the quality of the finely dispersed fluidized lime that is injected.
