Fuel Cell Cogeneration System Utilizing Biogases Generated from Livestock Manure

A verification testing facility for power generation utilizing biogases has been installed and put into operation. This facility is intended for methane fermentation that utilizes biomass generated from a small-scale pig raising farm. The biogases generated through methane fermentation are used as a fuel for the Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell (PEFC) bank, the gas engine generator, and the gas boiler. The generated energy is consumed in the testing facility and the pig farming yard. The solids generated from the solid-liquid separation processes for manure and sanitary sewage, and also the, digestion liquid that is the residue from methane fermentation, are treated to make compost at the digestion liquid fermentation type compost production facility.
