Gastroscopy in diagnosing gastric tumors in dogs [Polish]

The aim of the article was to present clinical observations concerning the occurrence of gastric tumors in dogs and the use of gastroscopy in its clinical diagnosis. The study examined 90 dogs of various breeds and sexes, aged from 1 to 15 years old. They had been directed to the clinic to undergo gastroscopy due to suspected stomach diseases. 6 cases of Aden carcinoma (2 with ulceration) and 1 adenoma were diagnosed using gastroscopy and through histopatological examination. Gastroscopy is very helpful in diagnosing gastric tumors in dogs. When gastrinoma is suspected, gastroscopic evaluation of mucous membrane together with histopatological examination should be performed.
