Postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) is a globally emerging infectious disease of pigs. The aetiology (Porcine Circovirus type 2), pathogenicity, host immunity, clinical aspects (wasting, paleness, intermittent diarrhoea and swollen inguinal lymph nodes), pathological lesions, diagnosis (immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization test), disease control and prevention, biosecurity, vaccination, nutrition and farm management of pigs against PMWS are discussed..
