Measurement of hydration water in a PEM fuel cell

摘要

A method and apparatus for mea-suring water of hydration in a polymer electrolyte (or proton-exchange) membrane (PEM) fuel cell is described.It employs a source of input radiation that is directed at an input location on the PEM;and a detector positibned at an output location,relative to the input location,for determining a sensable change in the input radiation indicative of a level of water hydration in the PEM.
