"Keep it country." That is the motto of the small Texas town of VFairview, and its loyal residents proudly stand by it. But while strongly tied to its rural roots, the community also exudes an upscale feel. This combination posed an interesting task for architect Ron Hobbs of Ron Hobbs Architects in Garland, TX, who had to marry the two together when it came to designing Fairview's new Town Hall. The architect turned to two varieties of Texas limestone to create an elegant government building that also possesses rustic charm. "We were not just studying the site, but also the needs and personality of the owner," explained Hobbs. "Fairview is a small Texan community. It's very unique. The town's motto is 'Keep it country.' It is also a wealthy community with upscale homes on large sites. This was a very high-end client. Basically, the goal of the project was to combine country living that people are so proud of up there with a very urban site."
