Purpose: To assess the feasibility of hyperpolarized (HP) Xe-129 MRI for detection of early stage radiation-induced lung injury (RILI) in a rat model involving unilateral irradiation by assessing differences in gas exchange dynamics between irradiated and unirradiated lungs.
