ABSTRACTThe Triangular Method differs from the 3‐Alternative Forced Choice Procedure with respect to the type of instructions and the design of the experimental procedure involved. Therefore the functional relationship between a proportion of correct responses (PC) and the sensory discriminability between stimuli (expressed as d′) is not identical for the two procedures.
