Bogdanka sends test coal to Ukraine as Q3 sales slide

POLISH private-sector miner Bogdanka produced 2.03 mt of thermal coal in July-September, down 14.7 from 2.38 mt in the same period of last year. Sales fell 12.4 over the same period, to 2.19 mt from 2.50 mt, with about 99 of this within Poland. However, the company remains in talks over exports to Ukraine - a plan it began exploring in the second quarter because of domestic thermal over-supply - and has sent test coal to the country, but there are still numerous obstacles in the way of any deals, it told IHS Energy Newswire.
