摘要

Editor - Salmon and Young's article on creativity in clinical communication makes a thought-provoking challenge to clinical communication teachers. It highlights the potential problems of a reductionist approach and the need for flexibility, creativity, authenticity and a holistic approach. It clearly addresses the issue that the teaching of clinical communication involves more than just the teaching of communication skills in isolation.However, the article highly overemphasises a disparity perceived by the authors between those who argue for a predominantly skills-based curriculum and those who emphasise curricular approaches based on reflection and mindful-ness.
