CHINA'S domestic coal prices look unlikely to stage a significant recovery any time soon, despite the approach of winter. Annual autumn maintenance on the Daqin railway - China's largest coal-dedicated rail line, in the north of the country - used to herald the beginning of winter restocking and a gradual increase in domestic prices. It also marked the start of annual term contract negotiations between miners and power producers, settling volumes and prices for the year ahead.
