US aluminium industry takes action on Chinese dumping

The Aluminum Association's TradeEnforcement Working Group has filedantidumping and countervailing duty petitionscharging that unfairly traded importsof certain aluminium foil from China arecausing material injury to the domestic industry.This action is part of the industry'strade strategy to address Chinese overcapacitythroughout the value chain.It is the first time that the Aluminum Association(AA) has filed unfair trade cases onbehalf of its members in its nearly 85-yearhistory. "This unprecedented action reflectsboth the intensive injury being suffered byUS aluminium foil producers and also ourcommitment to ensuringthat trade laws areenforced to create a levelplaying field for domesticproducers,” said AA'spresident and CEO, HeidiBrock.
