Acupuncture and Its Role in Natural Cataclysmic Disasters and Armed Conflicts

MY VISIT TO THE JAPANESE SOCIETY OF INTEGRATIVE Medicine in early December 2012 was not for an exclusive presentation on the latest developments of acupuncture to the Society; instead, at the Society's request, I addressed the role of integrative medicine in natural cataclysmic disasters and armed conflicts. This Japanese Society is very concerned about the high probability of another disastrous earthquake occurring in Tokyo. Coincidentally, just a few hours before I left my Tokyo hotel to lecture, my room on the 14th floor swayed back and forth several times as a "mild tremor" occurred. I now could understand their trepidation perfectly.
