COAL EXPORTS from the United States (US) dropped in January-August, but there were some year-on-year increases in August. Shipments through Canada, the US west coast and the Great Lakes totalled 9.38 m short tons (mst), down 7.1 from 10.10 mst in January-August 2014, according to the US International Trade Commission, Coking coal exports fell 9.03, to 2.82 mst from 3.10 mst, while steam coal exports dropped 6.90, to 6.56 mst from 7.05 mst.
