Japan's thermal intake drops 11 in August

JAPAN'S THERMAL COAL imports dropped 11 on the month to 12.22 mt in August, with Australian volumes tumbling to a three-month low. Intake also fell 4 year on year from 12.77 mt, according to customs data. Australia remained the dominant supplier with 7.73 mt, but this was down 20 from 9.37 mt in July, although only mildly below 7.89 mt in August 2014.
