Kobe's cuts

Several steelmakers have announced details of production cuts. Most recently Kobe Steel has said that its output in the six months October-March will be around 3m tonnes, compared with 3.4m tonnes in the April-September period, with the hope of reducing stocks to acceptable levels by the end of the period. It has also undertaken to limit product deliveries to allow for an orderly rundown in distributor stocks.
