Coated coil surplus

Mills quote very high domestic prices for coated coil, but there is heavy discounting and a wide spread, echoing the unevenness of coated coil export markets. Building grade HDG is so plentiful it is selling at a discount to CR coil in intra-Asian trade. Within Japan ordinary grades are reported to be discounted down to Y47/kg (391 dollars/t) but transaction prices are expected to rise modestly before the end of the quarter.
