Mexican output falls, Indonesian rises

According to the national statistics institute, INEGI, Mexican silver mine production in December 1999 fell year-on-year by 10.6 percent to 6.47m oz. A large portion of this fall can be attributed to the loss of output at Industrias Penoles which saw a 6.8 percent fall in silver production in 1999 to 64.2m oz following the environmental problems which affected output at its Met-Mex plant at El Torreon.
