Although Chinese manufacturing and general industrial production growth slowed down again in December and arguably below the official estimates - according to Oxford Economics' "bottom up" calculations - certain key stainless steel demand indicators continued to outperform. Automotive production, which had been reviving as usual since the summer, continued to accelerate through December not only in month-on-month but also in year-on-year terms and enough to reveal a new record year of demand in 2015.
