Lead’s fundamental strength starts to show

Lead has been one of the stronger performers across the LME complex, withprices rising to $1,701/tonne on Monday, December 7, up 9.6% from the lows at$1,551.50/tonne seen on November 23. The fact that lead prices are rising fasterthan the other metals is not surprising as its fundamentals are quite different.Firstly, more than 50% of its supply comes from recycled material and low pricestend to encourage hoarding among scrap collectors as they wait for a better price.
