DECC failed with value for electricity contracts

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has been criticised by a Parliamentary watchdog for awarding "poorly conceived and managed contracts" as part of an initial Contracts for Difference (CfD) provision during April. After an inquiry, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) concluded that DECC failed to secure best value for taxpayers as it granted up to ?l6.6bn to renewable electricity projects without price competition.
